Staryu prefers to keep the arm ringed by a golden strap in the same orientation. Research suggests it helps Staryu distinguish left from right and up from down, as it’s strangely unable to sense the tug of gravity.

Starmie improves on Staryu’s prioperception with its spinning, gyroscopic back half. Sometimes, Starmie with missing arms flop onto beaches to rest and regenerate in peace. Do not approach them; you should see what happened to the other combatant.
