Spinarak that live around humans learn that their face-patterns can be scrunched to get reactions out of people. Some make angry faces to discourage intruders, while others figure out how to wink for treats. Trained Spinarak can become almost as expressive as real faces.

The horn on Ariados and Spinarak’s heads is venomless and rarely used to attack. Instead, it may have developed to look similar to their spinnerets, making it easier to confuse their heads with their abdomens.
