Paras colonies plant tochukaso on each other as a rite of passage, and can attempt to bestow the honor on other species with varying results. Paras chase aggressively; perhaps to scare away, or compelled to germinate with prejudice.

There is much debate around whether Paras can evolve at all without a mushroom parasite. Parasect can become truly ancient if the mushroom is well-fed, growing into unique and impressive fungal towers.
