While sleeping Geodude blend in with their craggy habitats, they are very conspicuous when active. Without legs, they hoist themselves around on rocky arms that thud and clatter with every step.

Graveler’s diet of earth accumulates nitrates, coal, and sulfur, then its internal pressure compresses them into gunpowder. This explains their explosive reputation. If two Graveler meet on a mountain peak, they have a sumo match. The loser is tossed wherever the victor wants.

Golem’s constant rolling down mountainsides cracks open rock faces near the base, exposing the harder minerals they prefer to eat. Prospectors consider Golem furrows to be giant arrows pointing at dig sites.

Mountaineers and spelunkers dread evidence of Alolan Geodude, since they render their compasses useless. The workaround is to find one and wait for it to fall asleep — for some reason, they prefer to sleep facing north.

Wild Graveler in Alola have iron filings attached to their faces haphazardly. Trainers sometimes rearrange the filings on their Gravelers’ faces to represent its personality. This risks detonation if the Graveler glimpses its reflection and doesn’t like it.

If suitable rocks are scarce, Golem will improvise with anything sufficiently magnetic: scrap, unattended machinery, or Steel-Types. Alolan locations inhabited by both Golem and the Magnemite family are dangerous indeed.
