Fomantis pretends to be a Bug so larva Pokémon like Caterpie and Grubbin will leave it alone. They can’t keep up the act when they sleep, so they actively seek out Trainers for protection when they hear footsteps.

Cutiefly work together with sleeping Lurantis, warning them about predators during the day in exchange for a bit of pollen. Every once in a while Cutiefly will give off false alarms for a reward, but if it tries this gambit too often Lurantis just stops responding.
