Cleffa can’t tell the difference between shooting stars and nighttime aircraft. This leads to airfield infestations as Cleffa follow planes to their landings. They then stowaway on flights to get closer to the sky.

While their wings are incapable of flight, they help ride wind currents and steer as Clefairy bounce along. Their behavior changes with the phases of the moon: new moons cause docile and pleasant Clefairy, while full moons see them at their most mischevious.

Clefable are normally reclusive, but will chase meteor showers through towns and cities. Researchers are eager to see what happens if Clefable ever catch a meteorite — for now, all that is known is how much they steal on their way back.
